Volunteers Matter

This last year City volunteers contributed more than 65,000 hours to make Milwaukie better! These activities are valued at almost ONE MILLION dollars in benefit to our community annually!! Volunteer served in the following ways:

• Hundreds of hours in special taskforce meetings such as the baseball and riverfront taskforce committees;
• More than 300 hours in Neighborhood meetings and events;
• More than 500 hours serving on the City’s 10 appointed boards/commissions;
• More than 1,000 hours at Work Parties and Clean up activities;
• Over 1,000 hours this year as Police Reserves (7 Reserve Officers);
• More than 3,000 hours as Police Cadets (8 Cadets);
• More than 700 hours as CERT volunteers (20 people—trainings, drills, HAM radio ops).
• More than 8,000 hours volunteering at the library (1,400 volunteers);
• More than 50,000 hours in other volunteer work associated with the City’s Neighborhood Matching Grant program (NDA grants sponsors activities like Meals on Wheels and Backpack Buddies.)
