The Riverfront Plan |
|
|
|
Milwaukie Riverfront Park, an 8.5 acre site adjacent to the City’s downtown, is
nestled between the Willamette River to the west, Kellogg Creek to the south,
Johnson Creek to the north and McLoughlin Boulevard to the east. A design for
what will become the City’s “Living Room” has been developed for the City by
David Evans and Associates and is currently being reviewed by federal, state and
local regulatory agencies with final approvals expected by the summer of 2010.
The City plans to pursue grant opportunities in the spring of 2011 with an eye
toward beginning construction later that year. |
(continued) The Milwaukie Riverfront Board, a seven person board appointed by City Council, has guided the park’s design development. The Board holds monthly meetings on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6 pm at City Hall (10722 SE Main St). The Board welcomes the public’s ideas and comments on the Riverfront plan. |
