In recent days the City has received a number of inquiries as to whether or not the Water Department adds fluoride to the water it provides its customers. Here are a number of points regarding this topic:

The City of Milwaukie does not add fluoride to its water.

There is naturally occurring fluoride in the City’s well water at a level of about 0.30 mg/L or PPM. This level is about ½ of the dosage recommended for infants.

The City of Milwaukie would only use its Portland intertie as a last resort during an emergency situation.
