The City of Milwaukie is pleased to make its zoning data available for Google Earth!
The data is available in the link at the bottom of the page. If your computer has Google Earth installed, clicking on the link should launch the Google Earth program and automatically load the Milwaukie zoning layers. If you need to download Google Earth, please visit: http://www.google.com/earth/index.html. The program is available for free.
The zoning data on this page is a .kmz file, and includes the following zoning information:
Users can search for a specific property address using the address search function in Google Earth. Clicking on an area will bring up a dialogue box that displays the name of the base zone or overlay zone, and a hyperlink to the regulations associated with the zone in the Milwaukie Municipal Code. See the User Guide (link at the bottom of the page) for a brief overview of how to use these functions.
Users are encouraged to contact the Planning Department to verify the zoning for a property and to inquire about applicable development regulations: http://www.ci.milwaukie.or.us/planning/contact-planning-department. The hyperlinks in the zoning layer lead only to the base zone and some overlay zone regulations. These are the basic use and development regulations that apply to a property, though they do not necessarily constitute all applicable regulations within the Milwaukie Municipal Code.
The .kmz file does not, at this time, include data about the Water Quality Resource Overlay or the Habitat Conservation Area. The approximate location of the Water Quality Resource area can be seen on the maps on this page: http://www.ci.milwaukie.or.us/gis/water-quality-resource-maps. Information about the Habitat Conservation Area regulations is available at: http://www.ci.milwaukie.or.us/planning/natural-resource-overlay-project.
