Event Title: Poerty Writing Workshop: Willa Schneberg
Date/Time: Sat, Feb 18th 9:30am - 1:00pm
Location: Ledding Library Pond House

Workshop: INVITING LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD, THE ORACLE, AND THE COAT OF MANY COLORS INTO OUR POEMS.
In this poetry workshop we will utilize myth, fairy tales, parables, legends from world spiritual traditions to discover how Indra’s web or a gnome might belong in our poems. Poets who have drank from this well: Ann Sexton, Yehuda Amichai, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Mahmoud Darwish and Louise Gluck, etc., will be considered. There will be time to attempt a first draft and to share your poems, if you so choose. During the last half hour, we will critique poems you have previously written. Please bring enough copies for all group members. No more than two poems please.

The workshop will be limited to 12 participants (all levels of experience welcome). It will be interactive and will include presentation material, review of submitted work and ideas for new poems. A workshop flyer and registration form are attached. We are able to set the fee for this workshop at $25 and checks should be made out to the City of Milwaukie. Scholarships are available based on financial need. Please indicate the financial need on the back of the Registration form in applying for a scholarship.
