On Wednesday, April 6 at 7pm a reading in the Sixth Season of the Milwaukie Poetry Series by Steve Dieffenbacher. Steve Dieffenbacher has lived in Oregon’s Rogue Valley since 1989. His full-length book of poems, The Sky Is a Bird of Sorrow, was published by Wordcraft of Oregon in 2012. Ranging from Oregon to the Southwest to Latin America, the poems, written over a span of 20 years, are a journey of connections made, lost and rediscovered during a lifetime, with each place lived in or visited becoming a focus for them.
On Wednesday, April 24 at 7pm the Milwaukie Poetry Series will sponsor an Open Mic poetry reading. Sign-up at the event or ahead of time with Tom Hogan at 503-819-8367 or tomhogan2@comcast.net. Plan on 5-7 minutes to share your own or other people’s poems. If time allows, we’ll welcome additional readings. Poetry books will be available and refreshments provided.
On Saturday, April 27 there will be a writing workshop by Paulann Petersen, Oregon’s Poet Laureate. The workshop will be limited to 14 participants of all levels of experience and cost $30.00.
