Would you like to spend time with a great group of fun-loving people and help your community at the same time? If so, it sounds as if you would be a great volunteer.
The Ledding Library is always in need of volunteer help -- especially the Adult Department. In the adult section of the library, volunteers shelve library materials, repair books, telephone people with overdue items and shelf read -- that's the library's term for making sure that the materials on the shelves are in order.
A few volunteers are needed in the Children's Library as well. Children's Library volunteers help prepare for craft projects, and do shelving and shelf reading. Children ages 12 and up are welcome to volunteer.
Many of our volunteers work one hour per week -- others work ten or more. Any amount of volunteer work is appreciated by the library staff and the citizens of Milwaukie. To show our appreciation of our volunteers' hard work, the Friends of the Ledding Library puts on a delicious brunch for volunteers every year in the spring.
