Garbage and Recycling

Garbage, recycling and yard debris collection services in the City of Milwaukie are provided by seven franchised garbage companies. Each garbage company provides services to a specific area of the City.  The garbage rates are set by the Milwaukie City Council and are reviewed annually to determine if rate increases are necessary.  A variety of service levels are available for both residential and commercial customers.  Residents may choose weekly or monthly collection and carts area available in 20, 32, 60 and 90 gallon size.  For details on service sizes and rates, see the attached rate sheet, effective August 2012.

Need info on recycling electronics or other items? The Oregon E-Cycles program, which was created by Oregon’s Electronics Recycling Law, started operation on January 1, 2009.  It requires electronics manufacturers to provide free responsible recycling for computers, laptops, monitors, and TVs to anyone bringing seven or fewer items to a participating collection site at one time.
