Introduction
The City's pilot Facade Improvement Program was established in May 2011, and was jointly funded by the City and Metro. There is $50,000 in matching funds available for improvements to downtown building facades. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis; all applications submitted by the second Wednesday of each month will be reviewed at that month's Design and Landmarks Committee meeting, which is held on the first Monday of each month.
Purpose
The purpose of the program is to encourage and fund high-quality facade improvement projects that enhance the pedestrian experience and make downtown Milwaukie a more attractive, pleasant, and vibrant place.
Areas of Eligibility
Downtown zones, east of McLoughlin Blvd. The map of eligible areas is available here.
Eligible Participants
Property owners and lessees. Applicant must not have any outstanding debts to the City, unpaid property tax, or unresolved Code Enforcement issues.
