Update 5/2/13: The 30-day notice for the June 4, 2013 City Council hearing on the TSAP has been posted. A new version of the Tacoma Station Area Plan is available for review (plan, appendices). This is the version that is being presented to the Planning Commission for a public hearing on May 14, 2013.

The Portland to Milwaukie Light Rail line and will include a station near the SE McLoughlin Blvd/Tacoma Street interchange. The Tacoma Station Area Plan is being developed by the City of Milwaukie in coordination with others to examine opportunities for redevelopment and investment in the vicinity of the new light rail station.

The City of Milwaukie is leading a broad-based effort to restore Kellogg Creek, located in Milwaukie’s South Downtown, to its natural free-flowing condition.

The City has developed a new vision for its South Downtown (the area south of Washington and between 99E and 21st Ave) during the period between 2008 and 2011. Council adopted the South Downtown Concept Plan on September 26, 2011, and directed staff to continue work on an implementation strategy.

The City of Milwaukie has completed a project that brings sewer service to the unincorporated area to the Northeast of the City's current boundary (called the Northeast Sewer Extension project, or NESE). This is a resource for residents in the area interseted in connecting, and provides information about the construction.

The Walk Safely Milwaukie Program (WSMP) is intended to empower Milwaukie’s neighborhoods to identify and implement local projects and other citizen-led activities to make walking in Milwaukie a more comfortable and commonplace experience.

8/22/12: Councl unanimously voted to end the effort to bring pro baseball to Milwaukie and asked city staff to refocus its energies on developing Milwaukie Riverfront Park at its Aug. 21st meeting.
