Dave Hedges was born and raised in London, England. He served for over 30 years as a police officer in London, retiring as a Detective with Special Branch. His connection to Milwaukie stems from his wife who was a Milwaukie resident when they met, and whose family has lived in the City since the late 1970's. Dave and Linda were married in Milwaukie Christian Church in 1996. When Dave retired at the end of 2006 he and Linda moved back to Milwaukie to be close to their eldest son, daughter-in-law and grandson. They all live in the Hector Campbell Neighborhood.
Dave is very active in the Hector Campbell Neighborhood District Association, and attends their meetings and social functions, and has honed his hot dog cooking skills at the annual NDA picnic. He served for almost 4 years on the Public Safety Advisory Committee, being the Chair since 2009, and resigned from PSAC in December 2010 just prior to being sworn in as a City Councilor. He helped to start, and still serves on, the Milwaukie Public Safety Foundation which raises money to support the police department K9 unit, and other public safety programs in Milwaukie.
