The City of Milwaukie Building Department strives to provide excellent customer service while protecting the public through consistent and efficient administration of the State Building Codes. A permit specialist and/or building official is available every day at the Johnson Creek Blvd facility to answer questions about code requirements. Handouts describing services and programs are also available at the Johnson Creek facility.

Building Code Information
Department staff provides information about building code and permit requirements to residents and property owners.
Permit Processing and Tracking
Staff accepts permit applications and fees, and tracks applications through the permitting and inspection process. This involves coordination with of a whole team of staff from the Planning, Engineering, and Fire Departments.
Permit and Plan Review
The plans examiner reviews all permit applications and plans for compliance with building code.
Inspection Services
Building inspectors visit the building sites to ensure that the projects are constructed according to the approved plans and building code.
Code Compliance
Building inspectors work with property owners to resolve building code violations.
