Light Rail and City projects to close portions of several Downtown streets - first up is Monroe Street June 17 through June 21

During summer and fall of 2013, a series of Downtown street and roadway closures will take place as several track intersections are reconstructed and the City performs a pipe replacement project.

    Friends of the Ledding Library Book Sale this weekend!

    Friends of the Ledding Library of Milwaukie will hold their annual Book Sale June 21-22-23 from 9 a.m. to 4 pm. at the Waldorf School gym, 2300 SE Harrison Street in Milwaukie. This year, a feature will be the “Early Bird Special” a special early opening at 8 a.m. on June 21 for members of the Friends. Memberships can be purchased at the door.

    Fifty kids from five Milwaukie schools receive refurbished bikes from Police Department

    Fifty Milwaukie school children from four of the City’s elementary schools and a middle school received refurbished bicycles on May 23, 2013 as part of the Milwaukie Police Department’s Bike Giveaway program.

    Milwaukie "hires" new K-9, Officer Yago

    Thanks to the generous support of the community and the fund-raising efforts of the Milwaukie Public Safety Foundation, K-9 Officer-in-training Les Hall brought down his new partner, Yago, from a Washington kennel to his new home in Milwaukie on May 24, 2013.
